It nourishes cardiac muscles & improves the force of contraction and thus cardiac output. It decreases heart rate thus cardiac workload. It maintains the normal tone of blood vessels and improves perfusion of body tissues. It is a drug of choice in Ayurveda for preventing cardiac failure.
